Founded in 1902 on Henry Leland's gospel of precision manufacture, Cadillac earned its 'Standard of the World' title with genuine firsts — interchangeable parts, the electric starter, the production V16 of 1930 that crowned America's classic era. The post-war decades made it shorthand for American success, peaking in the chrome-and-tailfin theatre of the 1959 Eldorado. Today the marque is remaking itself around the handbuilt Celestiq electric flagship and a works Formula 1 entry launched in 2026 — while the V16s, the fifties convertibles and the Eldorado Brougham anchor its collector market.
