Talbot-Lago

2 guides · 1937–1959

Talbot-Lago was Anthony Lago's Parisian grand marque, and in the late 1930s it produced what many consider the most beautiful automobile ever made: the T150-C SS 'Goutte d'Eau' — the Teardrop coupé — bodied by Figoni et Falaschi in shapes that stop concours lawns to this day. The racing programme won Le Mans outright in 1950, and the postwar T26 Grand Sport carried the flame until French luxury taxation strangled the company in the 1950s. Teardrops trade in the eight figures when they trade at all — Talbot-Lago sits permanently in the collector world's innermost circle.
