RUF

5 guides · 1983–2018

RUF is not a tuner — it is a manufacturer in its own right, building complete cars on unstamped Porsche-sourced shells from Pfaffenhausen since the 1980s, with its own chassis numbers and its own legend: the CTR 'Yellowbird' of 1987, which took the world production speed record at 211 mph and starred in the most famous Nürburgring video ever filmed. The CTR2 and CTR3 extended the bloodline, and modern RUFs pair carbon monocoques with air-cooled-era aesthetics. Genuine RUF-chassis cars are rare, meticulously documented and increasingly recognised at the top of the Porsche-adjacent collector market — a marque for those who know.
