Red Bull Advanced Technologies exists to answer a single question: what would the fastest car ever made look like if lap time were the only brief? The RB17, designed under Adrian Newey's direction, is the answer — a track-only, twin-seat hypercar with a naturally aspirated V10 hybrid powertrain producing around 1,200 horsepower and downforce figures in Formula 1 territory, built in just 50 examples for a clientele who receive a racing team's support alongside the car. It is the purest expression yet of the F1-constructor-as-carmaker idea, and its collectability was settled before the first chassis was finished.
