The C2 Sting Ray ran for just five model years but yielded the entire core of high-end Corvette collecting. The 1963 split-window coupe is unique to the first year. Big-block 396 (1965) and 427 (1966–67) engines transformed performance, and the 1967 L88 — built only in tiny numbers — sits at the top of the entire Corvette market.

NCRS documentation, Tank Sheets and originality dictate value across the C2; small-block cars are the most usable and rewarding to own, big-block cars carry the headline values.

Provenance and originality

Start with identity, paperwork and originality. For the Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray (C2), the strongest cars have a continuous ownership file, matching numbers where applicable, original manuals, invoices and evidence of work by recognised marque specialists.
