Launched in February 1984 with a 1.6-litre 105 PS engine, the Peugeot 205 GTi gained a 115 PS version in 1986 and a 1.9-litre 130 PS variant the same year. The car was praised at launch for its chassis balance, light weight (under 900 kg) and steering, and remains the defining 1980s European hot hatch.
Production continued until 1994 with various special editions (Gentry, Limited Edition) closing out the run.
Reference 1980s hot hatch; rapidly disappearing supply of original cars has driven a clear collector market.
