Carrozzeria Touring was founded in Milan in 1926 and became famous for its designs and the patented Superleggera construction method before ceasing production in 1966. The rights were purchased in 2006 and a new company established — a legitimate business trading on a legitimately acquired name, distinct from the original firm. The current operation is a full-cycle coachbuilder: design, engineering, prototyping, homologation, in-house painting, limited-series coachbuilding and restoration, all under one roof, with modern output including the Bentley Continental Flying Star. The restoration side covers historic Touring-bodied cars and any other classic to the same standard, and the firm issues its own Certificate of Authentic Restoration — attesting that the work followed the rules and processes of the period in which the car was built.
