Aventador-based 50th-anniversary Lamborghini — three customer coupés, nine roadsters, full carbon bodywork.
Revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to mark Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, the Veneno is an Aventador-based limited series with a bespoke full carbon-fibre body, revised aerodynamics and a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 750 CV / 740 bhp. Three coupés were sold to customers, with one further coupé retained by the factory and now displayed at the MUDETEC museum; some sources give a built total of five coupés, counting a separate test car. Nine roadsters followed for customers, with a tenth retained by the factory. The coupé reaches 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and the roadster, 50 kg heavier, in 2.9 seconds.
The Veneno was sold at €3 million (coupe) and €3.3 million (roadster) plus taxes when new — making it one of the most expensive new cars ever sold at launch.

Start with identity, paperwork and originality. For the Lamborghini Veneno, the strongest cars have continuous ownership history, matching numbers where applicable, original books and tools, factory build documentation and evidence of work by manufacturer-approved specialists. Aventador-derived L539 V12; service through Lamborghini main-dealer only. A proper pre-purchase inspection includes cold-start behaviour, ECU diagnostics and fault-code history (where applicable), leak-down or compression testing, underbody photography, suspension and chassis inspection, brake condition and a long enough road test to expose heat-related faults. Deferred maintenance on a car of this class is almost always more expensive than buying a better-sorted example.
Use a paint-depth gauge, lift access and a specialist familiar with the model's factory panel gaps and finish standards. Collector value is dramatically affected by structural repairs, refinished panels, poor paintwork and missing factory trim or option content. Documented cosmetic refresh is acceptable; concealed accident or fire damage must be priced severely.
Original allocation, full Lamborghini service history, unmodified spec. Specification, colour, options and limited-build variants move values significantly. Buy the best-documented example in the most desirable specification you can justify, rather than a tired example of a rarer derivative that will need years of corrective work.
