Launched in 2005, the 575 Superamerica is a limited-run open version of the 575M Maranello. Its defining feature is a 'Revocromico' rotating roof: a single electrochromic glass panel that pivots 180 degrees over the rear deck, eliminating the need for a folding mechanism and preserving the car's silhouette. Power comes from the 575M's 5.7-litre V12, uprated to 540 bhp, with a choice of 6-speed manual or F1 paddle-shift transaxle.
Production was limited to 559 cars worldwide, making the Superamerica significantly rarer than the 575M Maranello on which it is based. The optional GTC handling pack (carbon-ceramic brakes, sportier suspension and exhaust) is a desirable spec.

Start with identity, paperwork and originality. For the Ferrari 575 Superamerica, the strongest cars have continuous ownership history, matching numbers where applicable, original books and tools, factory build documentation and evidence of work by manufacturer-approved specialists. F133E V12 is robust; routine service items and timing components are standard 575M. A proper pre-purchase inspection includes cold-start behaviour, ECU diagnostics and fault-code history (where applicable), leak-down or compression testing, underbody photography, suspension and chassis inspection, brake condition and a long enough road test to expose heat-related faults. Deferred maintenance on a car of this class is almost always more expensive than buying a better-sorted example.
