Overview

Why this car matters

Unveiled on 9 September 2025, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa is the plug-in hybrid V8 berlinetta successor to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale — reviving the Testarossa name for a new generation of Ferrari's most powerful production V8 line.

Offered as coupé and Spider, with an Assetto Fiorano option available on both.

Ferrari's current-flagship plug-in hybrid V8 berlinetta and the first modern car to carry the Testarossa name. As launch-model 2025–present buyer's guide, the emphasis is on delivery specification, Assetto Fiorano configuration and authorised-dealer service history from new.

Buyer's Guide

What to look for

Authorised dealer paperwork and specification

Confirm chassis number, delivery specification, options, colour, interior trim and any Assetto Fiorano pack against the authorised Ferrari dealer's records, and cross-check every claim against the delivery paperwork. For the 849 Testarossa specifically, verify the exact body (coupé or Spider) and the presence or absence of the Assetto Fiorano option — the pack includes a ~30 kg weight reduction and twin FXX-K-inspired rear wings — against the delivery documents.

Plug-in hybrid drivetrain and high-voltage system

Confirm battery state, hybrid-system service history and any software update record through the authorised Ferrari dealer service portal — hybrid and high-voltage diagnostics belong with the dealer.

DCT gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes

The dual-clutch gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes are dealer-diagnosed systems. Confirm clutch wear percentage, TCU fault history and disc condition against a current authorised Ferrari diagnostic report.

Warranty and campaign record

Confirm the status of any factory extended-warranty or maintenance programme, and the record of any software update or recall campaign, against the authorised Ferrari dealer service portal.

Agreed-value current-Ferrari policy with limited mileage and secure storage. Plug-in hybrid Ferraris are underwritten in the specialist modern-Ferrari tier, with high-voltage system service records a material factor.

Authorised Ferrari dealer service

Continuous authorised Ferrari dealer service history is essential. Battery health, hybrid control unit and high-voltage architecture are dealer-only items; any service, software update or high-voltage system work must be recorded through the Ferrari dealer network.

Battery and hybrid system

The lithium-ion battery and hybrid drivetrain depend entirely on authorised Ferrari diagnostic and service tools. Confirm the battery state and any software update record through the dealer portal before pricing.
